Rob Rowe has been the Corowa Golf Club Head Professional since 2009. He began working in the Pro Shop in 2003 and completed his PGA Traineeship in 2007. Along the way he was named Victorian PGA Trainee Dux for 2006 & 2007, was selected to represent the PGA Academy at the 2007 Junior Festival of Golf for his coaching achievements and was one of three scholarship winners nationally for his performance in the Traineeship.
Since 2009 Rob has been proactive amongst the community to grow golf at the Corowa Golf Club. He is responsible for introducing the highly successful Sevens Golf program, a wonderful 9 hole competition enjoyed by the members over the daylight savings period. Rob and his team have enjoyed developing the golf skills of the town’s junior population through a combination of clinics held at the club and sessions held at many local schools. From 2015 the junior clinics fall under the national MY GOLF program and for information please follow Tuition link here.
Rob has many passions and interests however nothing can top his love for the Hawthorn Hawks. Good luck getting out of the pro shop during footy season if they are playing well.
Favourite Corowa Hole: 16th – “The only Hole in One I have had was on the 16th hole so I can not go past it for my favourite hole!”
Levi began working at the Corowa Golf Club in 2015 after starting the first of his three years as a PGA Trainee. Levi moved to Corowa from Horsham where won the 2013 & 2014 Horsham Club Championship. Levi also won the 2013 Wimmera District Golf Championship and helped Wimmera win the Bowl division at country week for the first time in 11 years. He also represented Vic Country in 2013.
Over the course of his traineeship Levi hopes to help grow the game of golf with The Corowa Golf Club and continue to learn all there is to know about the game of golf. A Collingwood supporter means he is not short on confidence and watch out if the pies are hot.
Favourite Corowa Hole: 2nd – “There are so many ways to play it and so many scores can be had playing the second hole”
Deb has been a regular fixture in the pro shop since 2010 bringing a wealth of retail experience. Although playing golf is not Deb’s strong suit she is always willing to hear all of the hard luck stories from the members and guests.
A Hawthorn supporter through force (surrounded by a family of hawk fanatics) she will always have a soft spot for the doggies.
Favourite Corowa Hole: 25th – “All 27 holes are too hard for me! I do love the 25th though with the giant gum trees on the dogleg marked with the 1974 & 75 flood levels – the history on this course is amazing”.
Jo is a familiar face having worked in the Corowa Golf Club bar and administration areas for a number of years. In 2015 Jo joined the pro shop team and brings with her a huge passion for golf. Jo managed to drop her handicap by over 30 shots in 3 years and finds herself in the teens these days.
Jo is as a passionate Bulldog supporter so needless to say it has been a rough few years.
Favourite Corowa Hole: 12th – “The view of the Murray is picturesque so long as I don’t hit it left and in it. Every time I stand on the tee I feel like this could be a hole in one”.
Rob may be the face of golf at the Corowa Golf Club but it can be argued his wife and business partner Renee is the engine that keeps it all running behind the scenes. Renee is responsible for the business administration and the selection of the extensive range of ladies fashion apparel. Although not seen behind the counter as often in recent times being kept busy with two little ones there is nothing Renee likes more than to be at the shop helping out.
Once upon a time Renee followed the Bombers but has been a keen Hawk for over 15 years showing that Rob must have some influence!
Favourite Corowa Hole: 4th – “This hole is so well known for its green that measures 66m but for me it is the first hole I ever pared and that is why it is my favourite”
